The Gulf of Gokova & Knidos on The Datca Peninsula

This itinerary takes in the breathtaking beauty of the Turkish Gulf of Gokova, a scattering of unspoiled islands and dramatic coastlines fringed by many isolated coves and bays. Set sail from Bodrum visiting Orak Island, famous for its sea life and incredible water, the fishing village of Cokertme for great hiking, Oren at the ancient site of Keramos, Karacasogut, English Harbour, and several other beautiful bays in the Gulf of Gokova, such as Kormen and Mersincik. For a insight into the history of the region, the excavations of Knidos offer a rich and ambient experience. Return to explore Bodrum stopping at Kisebuku, Ada Bogazi and Karaada en route.

This tour departs from and ends in Gocek. Cruise the rugged coastlines of ancient Lycia, visiting the sites of this fascinating culture’s most important and powerful cities and strongholds. The coast along this route combines 3000 years of Lycian mystery and Byzantine grandeur before the incredible backdrop of the Turquoise coast. Sail to Patara, Turkey’s most famous sandy beach stretching 12 km, and on to the idyllic natural and biological paradise of Kastelorizo Island. From here cruise the beautiful seascapes around Kas, Kekova and Kalkan with their unique harbours and sunken cities. This route also includes the famous beach resort of Olu Deniz and its Lagoon, Gemiler Island and the abandoned Greek ‘Ghost’ Village of Kayakoy, before returning to enjoy Gocek and its ’12 islands’.
